Parkinson’s UK
About the organisation:
Parkinson’s UK are a charity dedicated to driving better care, treatments and quality of life for those suffering with Parkinson’s disease. Founded in 1969, the charity is this year celebrating its 50th birthday. During the past 50 years they have funded groundbreaking research, and provided support for thousands of people across the UK. They have local teams ensuring that communities receive access to vital services and are supported.
What help did they require?
We were approached by Parkinson’s UK to review their expenditure. Their largest expense was their Print Fulfillment and Distribution services. The charity had multiple contracts coming to an end with various suppliers with no direct point of contact, as well as contracts that needed to be updated to include GDPR clauses. Parkinson’s UK wanted to work with a specialist procurement consultancy to ensure that value for money was achieved.
How did you do it?
We organised a group meeting with the steering committee and other stakeholders to gather information, plan and implement our tailored Sourcing to Selection Process.
Working with the steering committee we highlighted issues before they became risks and used project plans to keep the whole team updated on a regular basis. We carried out market research (through their close relationships with other charities), led on contract negotiations and awarded the new contract on time with unanimous agreement from the steering board. The contract was signed by Steve Wood, CEO of Parkinson’s UK.
The results:
Novo-K’s solution provided Parkinson’s UK with all the documentation and market research required, meeting all agreed timescales, and enabling an informed decision upon awarding the contract to the chosen supplier on time. Foundations were built on an ongoing working relationship that will allow us to improve efficiency, make savings and reduce risk.
“We are delighted with the expertise that Novo-K brought to the procurement project. From day one they ensured the project ran smoothly and they worked extremely hard with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the project on time. They appointed a supplier that caters for our needs and has a good fit with the charity. The communication with the project team has been excellent and they provided us with guidance and support throughout the process.”
